Digit 5 is Agility's first humanoid robot engineered for cooperatively safe work at scale, allowing it to work in close proximity to people without the physical safety barriers required by traditional automation. A New Architecture for Cooperatively Safe Operation Digit 5 builds on more than 65,000 hours of Digit 4 field operation and introduces a new safety architecture with human detection, motion cues and an independent safety controller, developed on NVIDIA IGX Thor and Halos for Robotics. Hardware upgrades include 40% higher payload, enabling repeated lifts up to 50 lb, a 90‑minute battery that fast‑charges in 9 minutes for a 10:1 run‑to‑charge ratio, and swappable end-effectors with ISO-standard mounts. As of May 2026, Agility had more than $300 million in multi‑year customer orders for Digit 5, subject to contractual milestones.
